Mayor's Holiday Food and Fund Drive

The Mayor’s Holiday Food and Fund Drive is a community wide fundraiser that brings Manhattan together to help families in need. Hunger exists year round, however the need for food assistance is most intense in November and December because of the demand for additional necessities. During the holidays the Breadbasket distributes thousands of food baskets to Manhattan families in need.

It costs approximately $38 to provide a food basket for a family of four. If you would like to make a donation, please make checks payable to:

The Mayor's Holiday Tree
905 Yuma
Manhattan, KS 66502

Your contribution is tax deductible and will be matched by a foundation!

Mayor’s Spirit of the Holiday Lighted Parade

SnowglobeJoin Manhattan and the surrounding communities as we welcome the holiday season at the Mayor’s Lighted Holiday Parade! The second Friday after Thanksgiving we will all gather together on Poyntz in Downtown Manhattan and watch as the lighted floats travel from the Manhattan Town Center to Aggieville. Awards will be given for Best School Float, Best Use of Cans, Best Use of Lights, and the Mayor’s Trophy! The KSU Baseball Team will be collecting non-perishable food items during the parade, so don’t forget to bring your leftover canned pumpkin and cranberry sauce!

Bring the kids out to see Santa Claus in Triangle Park and watch the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony immediately following the parade! Refreshments will be provided by KSU Hospitality and the KSU Choir will lead the crowd in carols. For more information on entering your float in the parade, log on to http://downtown.manhattanks.org
